[Manufacturing subsidies are recommended for rapid freezer! ] Explaining the ABCs of application

Are you looking for subsidies for your rapid freezer?

"Manufacturing subsidies" are especially used when introducing rapid freezer. Manufacturing subsidies will subsidize up to 2/3 of equipment costs (up to 10 million yen).

However, since the subsidy rate is high, the contents are complicated, and preparing a business plan is difficult for those who are not used to it.

Therefore, on this page, we explain the contents of manufacturing subsidies for introducing rapid freezer and ways to increase the adoption rate. In addition, we will also introduce rapid freezer application support service that allows you to easily apply without risk even if you are not familiar with the application or do not have time to prepare application documents.

What is manufacturing subsidy?

Manufacturing subsidies are equipment subsidies for small and medium-sized enterprises issued by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Since 2019 has a budget of 360 billion yen, it is said that the budget can be used until it is used up over the next three years. The subsidy rate is very high, up to 2/3, and the upper limit is 10 million yen (30 million yen for global type).

The subsidy rate is 3/4 for special quotas, and varies depending on the size of the company (number of employees and capital) for regular quotas, 2/3 for small businesses, 1/2 for others, or either. It becomes.

This subsidy is particularly useful when installing rapid freezer, as the cost of paying for expensive equipment is extremely small.

Applicable equipment other than rapid freezer

Manufacturing subsidies can be applied for if the equipment is necessary for business innovation.

This applies not only to rapid freezer, but also to ancillary equipment such as vacuum packaging machines and freezer storage. There is no need to narrow down the equipment to just one, and it is possible to apply for multiple equipment as long as they are necessary for the business plan.

Furthermore, in the case of special quotas, advertising costs and promotional materials production costs are eligible for subsidies, and in the case of business resumption quotas, expenses for infection prevention measures such as disinfection, masks, partitions, etc. are also eligible for subsidies.

Examples of manufacturing subsidies
Examples of manufacturing subsidies

However, this does not mean that any equipment will be subsidized. If you include equipment that is considered unnecessary in your business plan, it will cause a drop in the acceptance rate, so you need to select the equipment that is necessary for your business plan.

For example, in the case of a business plan to sell lunch boxes as frozen foods.

①Fukushima Galilei's commercial refrigerator/freezer for storing food
②Steam convection for cooking side dishes
③Rice pot to cook rice for the product
④ rapid freezer for freezing cooked food
⑤Vacuum packaging machine for packaging frozen products
⑥ Storage freezer for storing packaged products frozen

There is a case where a system that included these six facilities was applied for and was adopted.

In this way, you need to apply for equipment that matches your business plan. If there is equipment that you really want, we recommend using other methods such as leasing.

Conditions for receiving assistance

Not all businesses are eligible for manufacturing subsidies.

Normally, if the number of full-time employees or capital is less than either of the specified numbers for each industry, it will be eligible for manufacturing subsidies.
*As of June 2023

However, there may be additional special conditions depending on the type of corporate personality, so it is wise to consult with someone who is familiar with manufacturing subsidies.

Schedule from application to implementation

In the case of manufacturing subsidies, it does not mean that you will be able to install rapid freezer immediately after applying.

There is a fixed schedule from the application period to the subsidy project period, and the procedures will be carried out according to that schedule, and the subsidy will be transferred after all equipment has been installed.

In addition, most rapid freezer are manufactured to order, so it usually takes about 1 to 3 months from order to delivery.

For example, if we are recruiting for the next 15th manufacturing subsidy, the schedule will be as follows.

①Application Deadline: 17:00 on Friday, July 28, 2023
② Notification of acceptance: Approximately late September 2023
③Issuance application/Issuance decision October 2023
④Product order Immediately after delivery decision
⑤Delivery from October 2023 onwards
⑥ Completion report Immediately after delivery
⑦Subsidy transfer 1-2 months after delivery

This is just an example, but it will take at least four months from application to installation, so you will need to prepare by counting backwards from the time you want to install rapid freezer. Also, please note that recently there have been cases where the application deadline has been postponed.

In order to increase the acceptance rate

The acceptance rate for manufacturing subsidies also changes depending on the round of recruitment. Although the level of competition is not as high as it was at one time, it is still becoming more competitive.

In fact, in the 3rd round of manufacturing subsidy recruitment (August 2020), the national average acceptance rate has fallen to the 30% range, but the latest 13th round of recruitment (February 2023), for which results have been released, seems to have calmed down a bit. However, the percentage still remains in the 50% range, and one out of every two applications is rejected. Therefore, it has become necessary to create documents that are more likely to be adopted.

So what can you actually do to increase your acceptance rate?

There are three main points.

① Prepare materials that will be eligible for subsidy points

For manufacturing subsidies, there are documents that will give you additional points if you submit them together with your application.
Examples: Management innovation plan approval, business continuity enhancement plan certification, etc.

Since these documents are optional, there are some people who do not submit them, but there are many cases where the outcome changes depending on whether or not you submit these documents. Therefore, you should prepare as many documents as possible that will be eligible for additional points.

② Improve the plan that is the basis of the document

No matter how well written the document is, if the original plan itself is bad, it will not be adopted. In particular, it is important to consider how well planned the equipment to be introduced, such as rapid freezer is.

Consulting with business owners who have actually installed rapid freezer, and talking about how they can be used and what is the best way to use them, will greatly change the acceptance rate..

③Create documents

For manufacturing subsidies, business plans submitted by small and medium-sized business consultants in each region are graded, and success or failure is determined based on the scores. Therefore, if you present your business in a manner that makes it easy for small and medium-sized business consultants who grade subsidies to give high marks, the chances of your business being adopted will increase dramatically.

It is necessary to prepare the application documents after knowing exactly what the small and medium enterprise management consultant who will be evaluating the application is looking at.

By keeping these three points in mind while preparing your application documents, you can increase your acceptance rate. However, there may be some people who find it difficult to prepare the documents themselves, or who simply do not have the time to do so.

For such people, Daybreak Co., Ltd. also provides support for applying for subsidies that can be applied easily and without risk.

There may be some people who would like to use the manufacturing subsidy, but are unable to do so for reasons such as ``it is difficult to apply for the subsidy on their own'' or ``I don't have time to prepare the subsidy application documents.''

Example of introducing rapid freezer using manufacturing subsidies

Here are some examples of people applying for manufacturing subsidies using Daybreak's subsidy application support.

Restaurant example

Introduction example of rapid freezer

Installed equipment: steam convection, vacuum packaging machine, rapid freezer, frozen storage
Amount: Total 8 million yen → 3/4 subsidy, actual cost 2 million yen

The company was originally a restaurant business, and in response to the coronavirus outbreak, the company wanted to start non-face-to-face sales such as mail-order sales of rapid freezing for home use. Initially, the plan was to use rapid freezer only for mail-order sales, but this became an issue, especially since many fried foods, such as tempura, take time to prepare.

As a result, the company changed its plan to utilize rapid freezer for products offered at existing stores, thereby reducing labor costs and waste loss by improving preparation. We created application documents based on the revised plan and it was successfully adopted.

【customer's voice】
Thank you for your kind and polite response, which was very helpful. This time, we used a manufacturing subsidy to install rapid freezer. I don't think I would have been able to do it alone because the manufacturing subsidy required me to submit a business plan that was over ten pages long.

Daybreak helped me from the beginning and I was able to get my application accepted on the first try. I'm glad that I was able to significantly reduce the installation costs by asking Daybreak.

Case study of a seafood processing company

Introduction example of rapid freezer

Installed equipment: rapid freezer
Amount: Total 15 million yen → 2/3 subsidy, actual cost 5 million yen

The customer had previously been making products using regular refrigeration, but the taste had deteriorated, so the customer wanted to consider the future and use a manufacturing subsidy to install rapid freezer.

Although he could create a business plan on his own, he didn't have the time to do so, so he asked me to create documents, including a business plan, and I decided to support him. Our proposal was successfully adopted on the first try and we installed rapid freezer at our processing site.

【customer's voice】
I asked Daybreak because not only could they do all the paperwork for me, but even if I failed, they would be able to revise the documents and try again at no additional charge.

I was able to apply without any hassle, was accepted on the first try, and was able to install rapid freezer. I was very happy that I was able to create highly complete application documents without spending my or my employees' time or labor costs.
