Advantages of freezing pears

Allows long-term storage

Freezing pears allows for long-term storage. Many people receive a box of pears as a mid-year gift, but they have a lot of moisture and don't keep well for a long time.

If you have a lot of food and are having trouble preserving it, we recommend freezing it. It can be stored for 3 to 4 days at room temperature, and for about 1 week to 10 days in the refrigerator, but it can be stored for up to a month by freezing.

However, once frozen, it will not return to its original crunchy state even if thawed. If you have frozen items, you can either eat them frozen or arrange them in your own way.

easier to arrange

Freezing pears makes it easier to arrange them. It is also recommended to arrange pears into sorbets, juices, compotes, meat dipping sauces, etc.

When frozen, the cells are broken and flavors are more easily absorbed, which saves time when making compotes and jams.

It is also delicious to peel the skin, make it easy to eat, put it in a ziplock bag, freeze it, and have it as a sorbet. If you freeze it grated or made into a compote (boiled with added sweetness), you can quickly arrange it.

By massaging it once, it will be easier to take out small amounts. If you don't mind the texture remaining, you can cut it into 1/8th skewers, put it in a ziplock bag, semi-freeze it, and then pound it to break it up, so it will look like grated.

Storage period

Storage period

When pears are separated from the tree, they cannot replenish nutrients, so they lose nutrients as they breathe.

To prevent deterioration, it is important to keep it in a cool, dark place to prevent it from drying out. Therefore, refrigerated storage can extend the shelf life more than storage at room temperature.

Unpeeled pears will stay delicious for about 10 days if you put them in a plastic bag, seal them tightly, and store them in the crisper with the stem facing down. If you want to keep it for longer than that, or if you have peeled it, you can extend its shelf life by freezing it.

Freezing it will keep it for about a month.
